Firefighters Continue to Battle Flames One Day After the Blaze

Hong Kong, 27 November 2025 — The inferno that erupted in the Harbour View residential complex yesterday has claimed at least 55 lives, according to the latest figures released by the Hong Kong Fire Services Department. The death toll, which stood at 48 in the early hours of the disaster, rose steadily as rescue teams uncovered additional victims throughout the day.

Firefighters remain on the scene, working around the clock to fully extinguish the blaze that engulfed three of the complex’s high‑rise towers. Heavy smoke continues to billow from the upper floors, hampering visibility and slowing the progress of the crews.

Authorities have confirmed that many residents are still trapped inside the damaged structures, with search and rescue operations ongoing. Specialized equipment, including thermal imaging cameras and high‑capacity water pumps, is being deployed to locate survivors and prevent further loss of life.
