In a televised interview, President Vladimir Putin described the United States’ special envoy, John Witkoff, as “an intelligent man” who is faithfully representing his country in the ongoing peace negotiations.

Putin rejected recent claims that Witkoff is acting as a mouthpiece for Moscow, insisting that the envoy’s remarks have been “balanced and constructive” and that his diplomatic efforts are essential for reaching a lasting settlement.

“He speaks for the United States, not for any single agenda,” the Russian leader said. “His insight and professionalism help keep the dialogue open, which is what we need at this critical moment.”

Critics in Washington have warned that Witkoff’s close contacts with Russian officials could influence his stance, but Putin dismissed those concerns as “politically motivated attacks.” He added that the peace process “cannot succeed without mutual respect and honest communication between all parties.”
