After a 15‑day standoff that left many viewers without their favorite sports and entertainment programming, YouTube TV and Disney have reached a new carriage agreement. The deal clears the way for the streaming service to resume broadcasting ESPN, ABC, and the rest of Disney’s channel lineup.
The blackout began when negotiations over fees and distribution terms stalled, prompting Disney to pull its channels from the platform. Subscribers were left without live sports, news, and primetime shows, sparking widespread frustration across the United States.
Both parties announced that a “mutually beneficial” contract had been signed, allowing YouTube TV to reintegrate the full suite of Disney-owned networks starting Monday. The agreement also includes provisions for future content collaboration and a revised revenue‑sharing model.
Industry analysts view the resolution as a positive sign for the broader streaming ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of flexible negotiations in an increasingly competitive market.
Viewers can now once again enjoy live coverage of major sporting events on ESPN, as well as popular dramas, comedies, and news programming on ABC and other Disney channels through their YouTube TV subscriptions.
