Approximately 50 Iranians and other individuals were loaded onto a commercial aircraft that lifted off from an Arizona airport on Sunday. This marks the second deportation flight organized under the agreement the Trump administration negotiated with Iran two months earlier.
The deal, reached in April, allows the United States to transfer certain Iranian nationals who are subject to removal back to Iran, while providing Iran with a mechanism to receive its citizens without formal diplomatic channels.
Officials from both governments confirmed that the passengers were processed in accordance with the terms of the agreement, and that the flight is expected to land in Tehran later today.
